Breast Health, Wellness & Self-Care: A Conversation Worth Having

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month - a time to raise awareness, encourage conversations about breast health, and remind ourselves of the importance of caring for our bodies.

Between work, family, and everyday responsibilities, it can be easy to put your own needs on the back burner. But prioritizing your well-being starts with making time for yourself, staying informed about your health, and knowing when to reach out to a healthcare professional.

At C’est La Vie Spa & Salon, we believe self-care is about more than relaxation. It’s also about understanding your individual needs, feeling supported, and finding ways to make wellness part of your routine.

This month, we’re highlighting the importance of breast health and introducing a specialized service designed to provide individualized therapeutic care.

Why Breast Health Awareness Matters

Breast health is an important part of overall well-being, and awareness begins with understanding your body and knowing what is normal for you.

Keeping up with recommended breast cancer screenings, discussing your personal and family history with your healthcare provider, and speaking with a medical professional about any new or unusual changes are meaningful ways to prioritize your health.

Changes such as a new lump, skin changes, nipple changes, or unusual discharge should be discussed with a healthcare professional. While not every change indicates cancer, it’s important to have anything unusual evaluated rather than trying to determine the cause yourself.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is also an opportunity to encourage open conversations, support those navigating diagnosis or treatment, and recognize that everyone's health journey is different.

Awareness is important. So is making your health a priority throughout the year.

Introducing Breast/Chest Massage at C’est La Vie

At C’est La Vie, personalized care is at the heart of the experience. We’re pleased to introduce our Breast/Chest Massage Add-On, available exclusively with Alyssa.

This specialized therapeutic service is tailored to each client's individual anatomy, medical and surgical history, stage of recovery, and current needs.

Depending on the individual and the circumstances, breast/chest massage may help ease certain types of tenderness and discomfort, support lymphatic circulation, and promote tissue mobility and scar care following appropriate procedures.

This type of massage may be considered in certain circumstances following procedures such as mastectomy, lumpectomy, breast biopsy, breast augmentation, breast reduction, and gender-affirming chest surgery. Appropriateness depends on the procedure, healing stage, and guidance from the client's healthcare team.

The goal is to approach every session with care, consideration, and an understanding that no two clients have exactly the same needs.

Making Space for Your Well-Being

Self-care looks different for everyone.

For some, it means setting aside time for a relaxing massage or facial. For others, it means prioritizing appointments they've been putting off, learning more about their health, or giving themselves permission to slow down.

Wellness doesn't have to mean doing everything at once. It can begin with one small, intentional step whether that's scheduling a recommended screening, or making time for an experience that helps you feel cared for.

At C’est La Vie, we want every client to feel that their individual needs matter. Our approach to wellness is rooted in personalized experiences, thoughtful care, and helping you make time for yourself.
